"I believe in a wholistic approach to oral health, and I think it's essential to stay on the forefront of the latest research, data and dental techniques, including the safest, most up-to-date and painless methods of treating patients." -Dr. Michael S. Goodman |

Holistic dentistry is based on the principle that the teeth, gums, mouth and jaw are inextricably connected with the rest of the body, and that a person's dental health impacts their overall health (and vice versa). Essentially, holistic dentistry is about treating the whole patient rather than one or two symptoms manifesting in the mouth.
Holistic dentists work to balance the entire organism by straightening crooked teeth, aligning the bite, and ensuring that the jaw and facial bones are in the optimal position in order to improve jaw and ear pain, breathing and sinus problems, sleep health, and a variety of other conditions that may affect the entire skeletal system.
The holistic treatment process begins with a series of X-ray images and models of the teeth and jaw as well as a visit to a doctor of osteopathy. A treatment plan can then be discussed with the patient. |
